Section 01

The one page most people read

Busy readers want the headline first. Your overview shows your total footprint, emissions per employee, the share of your data that was measured rather than estimated, and the status of your main policies.

An investor or procurement manager can take it all in within a minute, then turn to the detail if they want it.

Sections 03 and 04

A carbon footprint you can stand behind

Every source is split by scope and given a data quality rating. Readers can see what was measured from bills and what was estimated, which is exactly the honesty they are looking for.

The appendix then lists each calculation as activity multiplied by the official UK government factor. See ourmethodology for the full approach.

People and governance, in plain words

The social and governance sections turn your answers into short, readable statements. Practices are marked as established, developing or not yet in place, so gaps are clear without being alarming.

Example excerpt

Fernhill Studio pays all staff at or above the Real Living Wage and offers flexible working, a cycle to work scheme and an annual training budget. A written health and safety policy is in place and incidents are recorded. Diversity monitoring is being introduced this year on a voluntary, anonymous basis.

Your private action plan

A short list of what to do next

Alongside the shareable report, you get an internal action plan. It shows where to focus, ranks actions by impact and lists the data worth collecting next year.

  • High priority

Switch to a renewable electricity tariff at the next renewal

Electricity is 62% of the footprint. A REGO-backed tariff brings market-based Scope 2 close to zero.

  • High priority

Set an emissions reduction target using this report as the baseline

Investors and tender panels look for a dated, measurable commitment.

  • Medium priority

Adopt a travel policy that favours rail and virtual meetings

Two return flights to Edinburgh make up most of the travel footprint. Rail has a much lower factor per passenger km.

  • Medium priority

    Introduce voluntary, anonymous diversity monitoring

Often asked for in Innovate UK applications and investor questionnaires.
